Abseil

I'm taking 2026 to new heights (literally!)

I'm challenging myself to abseil over 200 feet to support CNWL NHS Health Charity.

This amazing charity supports pioneering projects that go beyond NHS funding, enhancing the health and well-being of patients, staff, and the wider community within one of the largest mental health and community NHS trusts.

I’d love your support in reaching my fundraising target! Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference and I’ll be thinking of all my supporters when I take that first step over the edge!

Thank you for your generosity.

Carrying Forward a Legacy That Shaped Me

Monday 16th Mar
Mental health has always been more than a professional interest or a passing concern for me it is something deeply woven into my values, my relationships, and the way I move through the world.

Mental health is a topic close to my heart for many reasons, but one of the most profound is the influence of a man who guided me into becoming the nurse I am today. He is no longer on this planet, yet his presence is still felt in the way I practise, the compassion I offer, and the standards I hold myself to.

He taught me that nursing is not just a profession it is a way of showing up for people when they are at their most vulnerable. He modelled patience, humanity, and the kind of quiet courage that does not need recognition to matter. Those lessons did not disappear with him. They live on in every interaction, every decision, every moment I choose empathy over assumption.

I have learned that supporting mental health is not about having all the answers. It is about compassion, patience, and the courage to talk openly about things that once felt unspeakable. It is about recognising that seeking help is a strength, not a weakness. And it is about reminding ourselves that we are allowed to be human.

My hope is that by continuing these conversations, we make it easier for others to start their own. Because when we normalise talking about mental health, we make it possible for more people to find the support they deserve and that is something worth holding close.
