Swim Serpentine 2026

I'm fundraising for...

Mental health affects all of us more than we often realise.

As a university student, I've seen friends struggle with the pressures of balancing studies, work, future careers, finances, and everyday life. University is an exciting time, but it can also be overwhelming. You're expected to build a future while simultaneously learning how to look after yourself, maintain relationships, and protect your own wellbeing.

Over the last few years, movement has become an important part of my own mental wellbeing. When I started university, I couldn't run 5km. With time and training, I eventually completed a marathon. A year later, I decided to learn how to swim despite having experienced a traumatic drowning accident when I was younger. Getting back into the water took far more courage than I expected, but it became one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.

I have been fortunate to have the support of family and friends through difficult periods, and that support has made all the difference. Not everyone has that network around them. Many people face mental health challenges without the encouragement, resources, or specialist help they need.

That's why I am taking on a swimming challenge this September to raise money for CNWL NHS Health Charity. The charity supports initiatives that improve the wellbeing and recovery of people using mental health services, helping provide comfort, opportunities, and support when it is needed most.

Mental health is every bit as important as physical health. You never know when a friend, family member, colleague, or even you yourself might need help. Any donation, no matter the size, will help support people navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Thank you for your support.
